Gyrotonic training are rhythmical exercises that guide your body through a series of fluid circles and spirals. It helps you to develop lean muscles and loosens your joints. Your body can move continuous without interruption because of the circularity of the motions and design of the equipment itself. Gyrotonic training feels like swimming without the instability that characterizes water. The trainer guides you 'hands-on' so you feel exactly how the movements are intended.
Most conventional exercise machines offer linear and isolated movement patterns, which create uncoordinated strenght. Gyrotonic training promotes the use of multiple joints articulations, creating coordinated power in the muscles, tendons and ligaments. By moving in connected, natural patterns, the body flows smoothly from one movement to the next bringing balance and support to the musculoskeletal system.
Gyrotonic training is practiced on the Pulley Tower Unit, also called the 'yoga machine'. This unit is equipped with a pulley, weights and two rotating elements to rotate and stretch the body multidirectional, synchronized with the rhythm of the breath. The weights move smoothly and lightly, and give sufficient resistance in order to strengthen the deep muscles and ligaments around the joints.
A Gyrotonic session can relieve muscle pain and stress, and deepens your body awareness. After a few weeks training you'll probably feel a pronounced difference in strength, ease and efficiency of movement and a overall sense of wellbeing.
