Not just a back training

Gyrotonic series are fluid movement sequences that guide your body through a series of circles and spirals. Your muscles become flexible, your fascia resilient, you create space in all your joints. In doing so, your body can keep moving in a continuous flow because of the circularity of the movement form and the design of the equipment. Gyrotonic practice therefore feels like swimming, without the instability that characterizes water. I guide you “hands-on” so you feel exactly how the movements are intended.

Different from fitness

Most conventional fitness equipment offers linear and isolated movement patterns, which create uncoordinated strength. Gyrotonic practice, on the contrary, promotes the use of multiple joints in a sequence, creating a coordinated and harmonious movement pattern while strengthening your muscles, tendons and ligaments.  Yes, you are training your back, and at the same time your whole body.

Training with the 'Yoga machine'

Gyrotonic is practiced on the Pulley Tower Unit, also jokingly called the yoga machine. This unit is equipped with a pulley, weights and two rotating elements to twist and stretch your body in all directions, supported by the rhythm of your breathing. The weights move smoothly and lightly, providing enough resistance to strengthen the deep muscles around your joints.m.
